Sure a dressed up looking group in that picture. Bet that is chocolate cake with 7-minute icing on top. I would imagine that was in 1957, as it looks like the hair style I had at that time (if that is me half hidden)
Yes, that is wee Alice standing next to Howard waiting for a slice of cake. And yes, Grandma looks quite unenthusiastic about things. Maybe she didn't like that kind of cake!

I know I'm coming to this conversation very late, but I think this is much later than 1957... Howard looks too young.
