MG brought home a flyer today about the Presidents we celebrate on Monday. On the back page was a drawing of an empty stove-pipe hat and the kids were taught that Lincoln used to keep his papers in his hat to keep them dry, and they were asked to draw in the picture what they would carry in THEIR hat. MG drew candy and fruit.
So....fellow bloggers...what would you keep in YOUR hat?

Candy and fruit- how cute. Will come in quite handy on a hiking trip.
The real question is, what would I keep under my hat?
A bag full of cats?
A genie in a bottle?
A bunch of spillable beans?
Mmmm. Beans.
I think I would carry my supply of sour patch kids and a package of gum just in case Nick wasn't around...you see Nick has this thing with gum (gag reflex or something)- and I have to wait until he is gone to chew it...so a supply of gum for safe keeping. That is what I would keep in my hat. But the other question is what kind of hat is it? Is it a cute girly one with a flower? Those are mostly for show and probably don't have much storage space - I would want a good cowboy hat - lots of space for gum :-)
So Nick can't watch someone chew gum? That's quirky.
I haven't said what would be in my hat....at this point it would probably have tissues because I seem to need them constantly (maybe even a tissue dispenser on the side!), definitely some source of chocolate, and a decent book to read when I'm stuck somewhere with nothing to do.
Forget the hat and tuck the tissues in your waist line- the EPH returns!
Point well taken....I'm trying to make sure I don't leave a trail of them around the house!
Ha!
So far I haven't stuck any up my sleeves!
Tell Martha I'd keep my keys, eye glasses, a crossword puzzle book, pencil, credit card, a bottle of water and a sandwich in my hat. Then I'd be ready to fill empty time anywhere!
Auntie A....your hat would surely rattle with all that stuff in there! And the sandwich might get smooshed...but it's a great list anyway!
A sandwich in your hat? Eeeew!
